A name would be good - there are records on FindMyPast for parish burials at Market Bosworth.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Thanks for the replies.  Got caught in a few other things and just now getting back.

I am researching the WAIN family & WHITMORE family.

Any WAIN will probably be one of mine.  At some point Thomas WHITMORE moved to Market Bosworth from Newbold Verdon.

To date no traction on the ELLSON family.  Eleanor ELLSON & Thomas WHITMORE married by banns 18 Nov 1754.  I cannot as yet locate Eleanor's parents so not sure her origins.

Quite a number of Wain burials at Market Bosworth.  You were looking for a burial in 1869 -

Richard Wain - aged 73 - buried 21 July 1869

John Wain - aged 84 (widower) - buried 1 March 1870
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Many thanks.

Both mine.  John is my 4th g grandfather.  His first wife Catherine died 1833 and the second Mary nee BROUGHTON died Jan 1868.

Richard is my 5th great uncle and his wife Rebecca nee VESTY died Oct 1864.

I can't readily see Catherine or Mary at Market Bosworth.

Rebecca (wife of Richard Wain) of Market Bosworth, buried 19 October 1864 aged 59.

There is another Rebecca Wain of Market Bosworth, buried 12 December 1854 aged 87.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Hi Westy

I have Whitmore in my family as well. They lived in a village called Earl Shilton which is quite close to Mkt. Bosworth. I was also at school with someone called Vesty who was from the area too. He subsequently played for Leicester Tigers rugby football team.

cheers
Tony
