Val, lots there for you to follow up  :)

Just checking whether you have come across this site in your research www.workhouses.org.uk/

Use the tabs on the left to get you to the Glasgow workhouses in particular (workhouse locations/Scottish poorhouses).

From Lodger's detailed list of addresses, check on Virtual Mitchell to see whether they hold any photos on these streets www.mitchelllibrary.org/virtualmitchell/index.php?a=street&i=A

There are other old photo sites. Virtual Mitchell provides good search options.

Is there a particular cemetery that the deceased of the poorhouse would be buried in?
Ferns, Collum, O'Brien, Higgins, Hallford, Allford, Halford, Alford, Canning, McMillan, McMullen, Fenton, Hodge, Jarvie, Dunn, Hastie, Whittingham, McAleese (all spellings), Young, Hazle, Hazel, Paterson British Isles mostly but like all families now further afield.

Could be anywhere if the family claimed the body and, if the pauper was buried by the parochial board  it would have been interred in common ground in an unmarked grave.
