As posted before, the name is crossed out and rewritten and there's a note in the margin (difficult to read, obviously). And his signature looks more like Joseph than William or Justice, although it could be 'W J'.

Any suggestions for his father's occupation? It looks like 'something' labourer.

Answering my own question, I think Clifford William may be the same person as William Justice.

Born: Clifford William Justus Fahlbusch, 14 July 1884 in Stepney, Norwood, South Australia.

Baptised: 7 September 1884 at St Bartholomew’s, Norwood.

Parents: Harry Emil William Fahlbusch and Augusta Sidonia Schlegel.

(Another son of the same parents: Arnold Ernest Fahlbusch, bapt St Bartholomew’s 19 June 1887).

Thought I'd found Justice in Durham in 1891 but it was a mistranscription of Julia  ::)

That would put his birth at 1884 as per the 1939 Register.

But there's no br for Clifford William ROBERTS that matches the DOB in 1939. There is a William Clifford ROBERTS br Q3 1886 West Derby mmn BRADFORD. Close to Wales.
