What do you know about him?
Who did he marry?
His children’s names?
When did he die?

How do you know he was from Mountmellick?

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Heywood
His wife was Hannah. Born Leeds.
He had three children Ada Adelaide, Annie Eliza and Emily. Annie Eliza was born in India while he was serving there in the British Army and it was from his service record that I found the Mount Mellick reference.

You'd need to do some research in UK, then look in Ireland based on research results!
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

The marriage certificate would give you his father’s name to confirm.

Here is 1851, Bradford - family Search shows two separate entries because the census goes over two pages.

Pat Conroy  10 yrs b Ireland
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SPMD-9TL

Mart Conroy (census reads as Murt)
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SPMD-S34

If this were your family - baptism is in Rosenallis parish

Pat Conroy 19th January 1840 - right hand page 4th one down
Parents Murt Conroy and Mary McDermott

According to 1851 the children are
Michael 15 yrs
Patt 10yrs
William 6 months
All born Ireland

There are other baptisms in Rosenallis parish
Michl 9th October 1836
Elisabeth 29th January 1843
Cath 22nd June 1845

You do need the marriage certificate though to confirm father’s name
