« on: Friday 03 May 19 04:43 BST (UK) »
I am hoping for some assistance to locate Thomas WHITMORE's baptism and parents please.

The following is what I know of him to date in the hope it may provide clues for someone with local knowledge to assist or?.

There are two baptisms I located [there may be more i missed within the probable timeframe]:

Apr 1689 son of William of Earl Shilton

Thomas WHITMORE married twice firstly by Licence to Rebecca FANE of Barlestone daughter of William FANE/FEARN & Elizabeth UNKNOWN St Margarets Leicester 24 Sep 1732.  Rebecca was buried 16 Apr 1737 Barlestone.

He secondly married Elizabeth KIRK of Newbold Verdon daughter of Joseph KIRK & Elizabeth CLAYTON on 30 Oct 1741.

Children located to date are:
Thomas bap 1732
Elizabeth bap 1734
William  bap 1736
Joseph bap 1742
Elizabeth bap 1744
John bap 1746

Hi Westy11

I have checked Barleston PR and the burial for Rebecca says her spouse was Jos Whitmore.
Then checked St Margarets PR for the marriage and that says Joseph Whitmore 21 Sept 1732 to Rebecca Fa...
Have also checked LRFHS CD Leicester Borough Marriages 1558-1753 and that has record for Joseph Whitmore  24 Sept 1732 Rebecca Fane at St Margarets.

So is it Thomas or Joseph you are looking for?

Hello
I've looked at that marriage licence for 1732
It gives Joseph as 28 or thereabouts and Rebecca as 24 or thereabouts.

Nearest I can see is at Nuneaton 24 Oct 1699 s of  Joseph Whitmore of Attelborow

There is an Elizabeth Whitmore widow buried at Newbold Vernon 14 Oct 1728 who may be his mother.
Sorry, if that throws a spanner in the works.
