Belmullet Board of Guardians - Patrick Henry and Henry REILLY

I am looking for information on the Belmullet Board of Guardians and my GGF Patrick Henry Reilly, b abt 1834-40 d1908 Belmullet, who was Chairman in 1864 and his father Henry Reilly who was also involved at that time.

I have the obituary for Patrick Henry who died 3 May 1908 Belmullet.  The obituary describes his father as the late Henry Reilly.  I have also found various newspaper articles dated 1864 where there was an incident of the Board of Guardian books being fiddled.  One of the articles gives a who's who of the Reilly family, cousins and uncles, who were involved in the Board of Guardians at that time. It mentions Chairman Patrick Henry and his father Henry. 

Am I allowed to upload the newspaper clippings?

That is as far back as I have been able to get, however, in Patrick Henry's obituary it also say's that he was educated by Anthony Corcoran who was the Priest at Killala. I think he died abt 1852?

I can't find any info on Anthony Corcoran apart from his name being mentioned in church articles.  I have deduced, rightly or wrongly, that Henry's wife's maiden name would have been Corcoran so it would be good to try and find something on that family.  Patrick Henry's wife's name is Maria Gallagher and she was born abt 1840.

just tick births or whatever   and put in year ranges  allow maybe 2 years each way!

Yes I love Irish Geaneology and I have found Patrick's death certificate on there - same as you have posted Hallmark.

I also have the census available for Patrick Henry and his wife Maria.

I have literally gone through Irish Geaneology civil records it with a fine tooth comb for all of them Henry and there is a death in Oct 1864 for Henry Reilly age 64.  The person present was son Michael and not sure if Michael is a name in the family, so not sure on that one.

I understand that records are limited but I thought that some info would have come up with a google search for the Board of Guardians?

Does Ireland have family Archives in each area.  Where else do you search for info?

That is why Links etc are important, I was looking in Belmullet as you said they were from there, but Patrick was in Binghamstown.

It says Binghamstown on the Cert.

You'll need to look at any other Certs you have to see where they lived when Registering BDM'^s
