Hello everyone.

I'm wondering if anyone could help me decipher what parish Elizabeth Mair is from in this record. Alexander Ferrier & Elizabeth Mair married 1807 in Gamrie.

Here is the corresponding index on FS https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XT2Y-WJM

Many thanks.

Fyrie/Fyvie?

The first letter of the word looks similar to that of Ferrier.

Or Tyrie - the initial letter seems to be missing the crossing that's in the 'F'.
Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson

Always worth remembering that a lot of OPRs for Banffshire parishes have been transcribed and are on Freereg. There the transcriber agrees with Arthurk - Tyrie.

Thank you JJ, ArthurK and William for your help here.

William, I didn't know about that database, I will utilise it from now as I have a lot of ancestry in Banffshire. Thank you, I agree about Tyrie, seeing it now and it's closer to Gamrie so it makes more sense.

Brilliant stuff.

Looks like an F the same as on Ferrier to me, making it Fyvie, Aberdeenshire but not so far from Banffshire.

It lacks the cross stroke of the F in Ferrier. I think it's Tyrie.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

All small rs are formed the same way - so r rather than v  ..... it looks like Tyrie to me too, and it fits well location wise.  :)

Thanks everyone I'm going with Tyrie here, though I can see the similarities with the "f".
