Looking for Alexander Bain son of William Bain 1780-? and Isobel Lipp 1779-?

Baptism 26 Mar 1813  Mortlach, Banffshire, Scotland.

Some sources have him in Canada and married in 1871 but no documentation.  We know his sister Margaret Bain 1798-1890 was in Canada by 1841.

We believe there were the following children of William and Isobel.

Margaret Bain 1798–1890

Isobel Bain 1799–1862 Mortlach, Banffshire, Scotland

John Bain 1804–

Elspet Bain 1807–1894  Grange Banffshire Scotland

Jean Bain 1809–

James Bain 1811–


Alexander Bain 1813–

Janet Bain 1816–

Ages in 1841 were rounded down to the nearest 5 years but there is an Alexander Bain aged 25 in Alvah Banffshire on the 1841 census - occ carpenter

Appears to be unmarried but I can't find him in 1851 or 1861

Are you sure about this? According to SP, all the children you mention were born to William Bain and Isobel Lipp.

Thanks Ruthhelen.  I did indeed have incorrect given name.   It was Isobel.  Not sure what I was thinking as I have Isobel in my records.
