It looks like Cornelious lived in Paisley and I assume you have his parents from his death Cert in 1942.

So let's see what we can see.
There is a Dennis Gallacher in the 1881 census  age 60 living at 16 Old Snedlan St Paisley General labourer
He died the same year and his death is on Scots people.

Perhaps that will tell you more.
There is also a possible death for his wife Catherine Gallacher  in  1879 age 63 on there.573/320
