You won't need the 13  John Dever Wills from Donegal so to check if he made a Will!

My imfo so far, but looking for his parents John/Ellen.Ferry,???
Irish petty sessions court reg, above mentioned,D.D 22.4.1856, role, defendant,D.D emigrated to N.S.W. Australia, 1864, on montmoreney, he was a farm lab,28, arrived N.S.W.29.11.1864.he may have married 1870, N.S.W. Sydney, to johannah dooley, reg no 177.?
not familiar with Irish registers, any imfo appreciated, thankyou Margaret.

Hi,  do you have the NSW bdm document for that marriage?  If so,  what information is recorded on that about  your Dominick Diver,  his place of birth, his age, his usual place of residence, his father, his mother including her maiden name ...
AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE, ONLY GOING ON IMFO I WAS GIVEN, NO WORRIES, FORGET IT.

I am sure that info from that NSW m.c. will help your quest.

What is meant by parents John/Ellen.Ferry,   ??

I'd say Ferry is a possible maiden name foe Ellen

Griffiths Valuation for 1857 has 2 Devir farms listed in Magherablad. Devir will be a variation of Diver. Mary Devir had plot 1, a 23 acre farm and Ellen Devir plot 8, a 4 acre farm. Both women are probably widows at that date. Given that’s a small townland with only a handful of houses, they may be related to Dominick. (The Ellen might be the Ellen Ferry referred to in post 1).

In the tithes in 1834 there was 1 farm listed in Magherablad, for Widow Diver. She had 17 acres (Irish) so that could be the same farm as plot 1 in Griffiths (which was measured in statute acres, which are smaller).

PRONI has this probate abstract for Magherablad:

Administration (with the Will) of the personal estate of John Diver late of Magherablade County Donegal Farmer who died 7 April 1899 granted at Londonderry to Bridget Diver of Magherablade Spinster Universal Legatee.

The will is on-line on the PRONI site and he leaves his estate to his sister Mary and grandchild Bridget.

No Diver households there by the time of the 1901 census:

I don’t see a death for Ellen Diver/Devir in the statutory records 1864 onwards so she may have died before that year.

This may be the sister Mary referred to in the 1899 probate abstract. Ummerafad is immediately beside Magherablad.
