Raymond Saville b 9 Oct 1919, New Zealand.

I tried Familysearch for NZ with ALL births (no names listed) during 1907-1911- nothing useful.

If 1919 is correct then try searching again when 10 October comes around.

I wonder if he wasn't registered.

Hi Janette... the fiche thinks otherwise :-)

1919/5346 - SAVILLE, Raymond

Resolves to Q4 in Napier.

Would still suggest waiting out the 100 years to see if the father is NR.

Regards
Beg

The article in the NEW ZEALAND TIMES depressed me. However everyone seemed to be helping her.

I have been following this thread, so may I mention the following cutting

https://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/newspapers/OG19200616.2.10
Ohinemuri Gazette 16 June 1920
The Magistrate and the Police were all working together to protect the three, by at least remanding her for a week ... that would have given her a safe roof and beds and meals ... yes, only for a week but NZ has long had a reputation for providing care, safe haven and respecting their citizens, and the cutting is uplifting.

A very sad situation but gratifying to see some compassion rendered. In this report the mother is described as being "middle-aged".....
