Record of Timothy BRASSALL of the 68th foot but he was born c 1811.

The links only work if people are subscribers to FindMyPast.
Yes, but it is quite a long record I can’t possibly transcribe. Full of good conduct pay deductions and a court martial  OP may have FindMyPast membership or be prepared to pay for a short sub to get it.

For those who have Ancestry,  Fold3 is available this weekend.
I saw the record Mckha489 refers to yesterday but now it doesn’t go to that  ::)  I don’t know what I have done.
Unfortunately i don’t think it give any personal details re marriage.

Today, the link gives the discharge details.

Timothy Brassal, 41 yrs looks  to have been invalided out 1853 after 22 yrs.
The Regimental’s Surgeon report -‘Worn Out’. (he was not the only one).
His place of birth - Listowel, Tralee, Kerry looks good for the other records found by scotmum.
Looks to have been discharged in Limerick.

1901 as above - Henry’s place of birth is Dublin.
1911 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XW45-MM5 transcribed as  ‘Newcastle, Tipperary’ but reads as Nenagh.

Henry Brazil was baptised May 1853, Dromore.

For those with access to FindMyPast, input Henry Brassill on the Irish Newspapers search and there are numerous stories on him, including his being editor of newspapers (having also foundeded the Kerry Independent), brushes with the law and other activities. There are also various articles on some of his sons, one of whom had a bout of Malaria whilst  in Japan after having previously been in the Hawaiin Islands and Russia. Quite a colourful family all round, it seems.
