Marriage record
« on: Monday 27 May 19 10:13 BST (UK) »
Emily Ballard married in the June quarter of 1845 in St Marylebone.
Volume 1 Page 221

For some reason her possible partners names are not showing.

I'm trying to find her marriage to James Brown and think this may be the one.

Other than sending for this marriage certificate, please does anyone know how I can find who this marriage was to. Or please can anyone find the marriage between Emily Ballard and James Brown....because my mind is spinning around in circles  :)
Best wishes HL

possible spouses are there on FreeBmd, no James Brown.  Where do you have your James & Emily together?

Incorrectly transcribed?
Marriage Jun 1845 Marylebone     1    217 James Brown

sorry, may have replied too soon. There are 9 people on that FreeBmd page. The Emily Ballard entry has been squeezed in between 2 other entries on index, but page number looks like 221. There is a James Brown entry in that quarter page number 217. His marriage to Mary Ann Terren is in LMA records.

On FreeBMD the reason the possible spouses are not showing is that the marriage reference in the index is "St Marylebone". The other entries are referenced to "Marylebone".
If you put in the quarter and year and the volume and page with no names you will see all the people with that reference.
As osprey said no James Brown with that reference.

Thanks osprey. For some silly reason I thought the partners weren't showing on freebmd. They're not on ancestry, FindMyPast or the Genealogist...... unless I'm cracking up!    ::)

I found her on the 1851 with James and her family, including her mother.
Mary Brown, born about 1815 Woolwich.I

Thanks Ray and I've just seen your replies. Maybe it is a transcription error then and it is the right marriage.
Best wishes HL

It’s an odd one on FreeBMD (which seems correctly to reflect the underlying handwritten register).  She is not a match with any of the other people listed under p221, who all married on 13 or 14 April 1845 at St Marylebone parish church.
