I am not sure whats going on here as those Birth Regs have Mother as Newall.

But this seems to be the Marriage and William does not name a Father.

I looked and couldn't find a NEWALL/TAYLOR marriage and the only one on FreeBMD 1893 Warrington was WHITTAKER/TAYLOR so I did wonder - well done Trish

Well if we are looking for William Taylor born 3 April 1897, the William who was born 11 Aug 1895 (son of William Simpson Taylor & Alice, and found separately in 1939) doesn’t seem to be him!

You really need to start with William Taylor b 1897 and work backwards.  Where was he born, and have you found him in a census in 1901/1911 and/or the 1939 Register?  Whom did he marry - and what paternal details were given then?

It looks as though he must have married an Ivy née Davies at some point 1920s or earlier - not found it yet.
