This sadly neglected headstone belongs to Sister Isabel Meldrum who died on the 2nd February 1918. She served with the Territorial Force Nursing Service at the 3rd Scottish Territorial Hospital at Stobhill Hospital, Glasgow and died of pneumonia in Ruchill Hospital.

Her father was Peter Meldrum, a Ship Master.

She is commemorated on the St Giles Cathedral Edinburgh War Memorial to Nurses of the Great War.

Hi Sandra I hope this will be helpful -

Will of Jessie Alexandrina Meldrum some of Finnart Street, Greenock, Latterly Matron Eston Hospital, Eston, County of York. Died 27th J anuary 1914 at Eston Hospital aforesaid intestate . Confirmation granted at Edinburgh 28th May to ELIZABETH PARKER MELDRUM OR PEEBLES, wife of Thomas Peebles, Pharmaceutical Chemist, Ancrumsyde, Lochee, Dundee, her sister and executrix dative qua next of kin. Value of Estate £1076.13.

From a well researched tree on Ancestry it would seem that Peter Meldrum married twice and had a family from both marriages.

Will see what else I can find out for you.

Yes, its certainly looking that way - shame - to meet CWGC criteria, it  would need a near relative.
