First yes I have made a bloomer they married in 1901 not 1910
There must have been more than one Frederick George Perrett
i have his daughter's registration and a son both mother Read both Wilton district. Oddly the son ..another Fred. Geo. was down as Nephew not Grand son with Ellen Read in 1911

Born circa February 1873 per the army file (could have lied about his age of 18 years one month). He served till 1903

Father John, mother Sarah. Next of kin address "Knoyle Down, near Hindon, Salisbury" has been crossed out and replaced with "Police Station, Warminster".

Police Constable father John a labourer Deceased  her father Frederick READ was Inspector of Police They married in Bradford on Avon

Looking at the soldier's service record, he was transferred to reserve in November 1899 ( so could have joined the police at that point);  recalled to army service in January 1900 and retransferred to reserve in April 1902. He didn't serve overseas in that 1900-1902 period.   

So possibly it is him.
