James Kerr - 3 Bn Scots Guards - 9930

Commonwealth War Graves Commssion would like to contact relatives of Private James Kerr - 3 Bt Scots Guards - 9930 who died 27/3/1917.  Aged 41 years. Private Kerr died post-discharge of tuberculosis
Commemorated United Kingdom Book of Remembrance.

Recent research has shown that Private James Kerr is buried at Glasgow ( Craigton Cemetery) BB 830
The Commission is in the process of producing a headstone to mark his grave.

James Kerr was aged 41 years - born about 1877

Son of James and the late Jeanie Kerr - husband of Agnes Kerr of Govan.

British Army WWI Pension Records 1914-1920 - James Kerr - 9930 -  Scots Guards - dated 5 September 1914 - wife Agnes - 72 Craighton Road Givan Glasgow.
Agnes Russell Kerr married 3/4/1903  - son James Kerr born 22/10/1905 - Agnes born 10/1/1912 and Jeanette 22/2/1914 - all born Glasgow - James baptised 30/10/1906 - Agnes 20/3/1910 - Jeanette 21/3/1916 Kirkpatrick.

James Kerr had served previously - Stewarton Kilmarnock Ayr - served at 21 years 5 months - farm servant - Scots Guards - dated 21 January 1896 - military history : home from 20/1/1896 - 20/1/1908 - brother Robert - Giffordland - Dalry - quotes the same marriage to Agnes Russell Miller as above. 3 April 1903 - quotes same names and births  for children. Was sent to Darnley Sanitorium, Nitsbill, Near Glasgow -  28 February 1917 -

Brother Robert Kerr was mentioned in the early military papers.  Robert born 1888 Dalry - appear on a Pennsylvania Passenger List 14 June 1908 - Liverpool to Philadelphia. Robert was single - descrobed as a farmer - father James Kerr - Dalry.  Going to Richmond VA.
