daughter Mary was baptised 7 April, just 2 weeks before her father's burial.

You can access many parish registers from Wales via FindMyPast, scans of registers are viewable.

Death reg to go with the burial

You can use the GRO index to search for death registrations with age for the period before age appears on index.

They were a large pretty close family & there's just a possibility they would all club together for a small memorial of some kind but you may well be correct. 

I wonder if I can find this out by writing to the church??
