Are all records available for Monikie dated between 1800 and 1840?
I think I may of found my missing links, (don't want to jump to conclusions as yet) However two people I am looking for are not with Scotland's people, Family Search or FindMyPast, for births, marriage nor death.
Searched all of Angus all parishes and Perthshire, Edinburgh and nothing apart from one family in Monikie with the naming pattern of my family.

See https://www.nrscotland.gov.uk/research/guides/old-parish-registers/list-of-old-parish-registers and in particular https://www.nrscotland.gov.uk/files//research/list-of-oprs/list-of-oprs-250-322.pdf

It is quite possible that not all events that occurred in Monikie between 1800 and 1840 were recorded in the parish registers.

If they are not on SP, the chances are that any records, if they ever existed, have not survived.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Thank You. Does that include 1841 census?
You see there are no strong leads until 1850 until marriage for next generation then 1851 census (all out of Monikie).
Just my luck.  Naming pattern is showing such strong link to this Monikie family, they have five births, but this one I am looking for isn't with this family.  Pattullo/Smith.
I will have a good read at what you provided and see from there.

Scotland's People has the originals of the 1841 census. Various sites have transcriptions, including https://freecen1.freecen.org.uk/cgi/search.pl, though all of them can introduce errors or incorrect interpretations of the originals. Ancestry and FindMyPast are particularly guilty of not producing exact transcriptions and not telling you what is not as in the original.

There are some names that are so common that they are not as useful as others when looking at naming patterns, for example Alexander, James, John and William for boys, and Elizabeth, Isabella, Margaret and Mary for girls.

I presume the family you are looking at is that of George Patullo and Barbara Smith, whose recorded family were Margaret, George, Helen, David and John?

Why don't you tell us what you know about the two 'missing' people and see what everyone can come up with?

I am interested in your Pattullo thread and maybe able to help if you expand a little on the George Pattullo line?

Cheers
