I don't know.  I just know that he married.  He was born ca 1729 and died somewhere around 1788 in South Carolina.

Hi Peggy. I am also a direct descendent of William Stanford. Here is what I have found out myself. William was born 9/11/1713 in Donnybrook, County Dublin, Ireland and died 12/5/1788 in Chester, South Carolina. He married a Mary Brewer who was born 1728 in Ireland and died 1775 in Chester, South Carolina.
Williams Parents are Henry Stanford born dec 1678 in Blaris, County Antrim, Ireland and his mother Sarah born 1689 in Dublin Ireland. I am trying to find out her maiden name but havnt had any luck yet.
Henry's father was Samuel Stanford born 1655 in Blaris , County Antrim, Ireland. I would love to know if you found something similar or any additional information. I have all the lineage up to William as well from my family line.
