Kathleen GREEN nee FAGAN spouse of Bernard GREEN and daughter of William Lewis FAGAN and Agnes FREEMAN was born 10 May 1896 at Newbold Verdon.

Her marriage was registered at Market Bosworth Jul–Sep 1916 Jul–Sep 1948 Barrow Upon Soar. 

Her husband's death was registered Apr–Jun 1992 Leicester. EDIT : The 1939 register has the couple at 32 Sandford Road, Barrow-Upon-Soar R.D., Leicestershire.

I am unable to locate Kathleen's death and would appreciate some assistance.

Get his death certificate. Who informed?
What names were registered to vote at his usual address?
Newspaper notices: who attended the funeral, who sent condolences?

After that you decide whether to search before or after 1970.

FreeBMD doesn’t show a death of a Bernard Green in Leicester in 1970

What is the last record showing Kathleen alive?

I can’t see a matching 1916 marriage either

There’s a Kathleen Fagan and Bernard Green on the same page of marriages in 1948, Barrow on Soar, but that is so far from what you have said that I wonder whether it is relevant?

I am still confused.

You now say that Bernard Green’s death was registered Jun 1992 Leicester, but that Bernard was born on 15 Feb 1926, so would have been 13 in 1939 and presumably not living as the quasi-husband of Kathleen who on the information you have given was a generation older.

You say you have found the correct couple together in 1939, so what was Bernard Green’s birthdate according to that record?  Are you sure you have the right people, if they didn’t marry until 1948?

To add to the difficulties I can see no sign of Kathleen being born in 1896 or anywhere near.

Indeed, William L Fagan and Agnes Freeman didn’t even marry until 1916 Market Bosworth.

Presumably therefore she is the Kathleen Fagan mmn Freeman birth reg Dec qtr 1928 Barrow on Soar, and could still be living? Do you know her to be deceased?

To make matters worse Im just not well at the moment and realise I shouldnt be doing this.

I had thought i might feel better to get a few wins on the board but have not been very clear and making it hard for those seeking to provide assistance.
