Wetheringsett - ALWOOD/ALLARD

Debbie, Just perhaps you may be able to knock down a proverbial brick wall at which five different family decendents have all got stopped at. I have had this wall for some 15 years. this is the wall: On the 17th May 1773 James Alwood married Mary Potter, they were both single and of the parish of Wetheringsett. They were married by Rayner Bellman and the witnesses were Thomas Quinton and John Sheppard. we know that they went on to have 12 children and they were all named ALLARD. We have nothing prior to the 17th of May though, who were there parents, where did they both live, etc, etc.
one possibility is that his parents were William Alwood and Hannah Alwood (Nee Bower) from St George in the East, Tower Hamlets , London. as a James Alwood was christened on the 1st November 1747.
We know that James died on the 24 Jul 1808. I just feel that the Alwoods/Allards were through and through Wetheringsett folk and that there must be something in the parish records.
Any assistance that you may be able to shed would be so much appreciated, by so many!

Not found the Allard/Allwoods but I think this could be Mary over at Debenham
Mary Potter d of Thomas and Mary 22.9.1754

Brothers George 30.5.1748 and William 4.6.1750.
The couple married there in 1745 according to Boyds  marriage index
Thomas Potter and Mary Bardwell
The family were removed to Kenton 1758
They had 3 more children

Elizabeth 4.2.1759 ,John 17.8.1760 and Samuel 23.5.1763


As for the Allards I'd be taking a closer look at John and Susanna Allwood/Allard over at Debenham
They had children Anna 15.12.1730,William 5.2.1737 and Jonathon 4.4.1740

I didn't find a baptism for James but they are closer than Tower Hamlets

That is fascinating and I really would like to think that James originated somewhere closer than a London. Really appreciate your time and research into this proverbial brick wall.
