Can’t find g father

I found Sydney on census, my dads info is correct and my uncle Jon, was born at Balaclava Farm
I have limited skills on this subject, but grateful for any info

I looked again, and found this 1974 death, but not Leics.

Deaths Dec 1974  GENT    SIDNEY    10JY1893    BRISTOL    22   523 (which ties in better with 1939)

This chap won't be 11 on any census.
How did you come to pick the 11-y-old as "your" sidney?

Hi the 1893 Sydney Gent is 14 with parents at Fern Farm in 1911, 1901 with parents Thomas/Rosa at Governors Marsh Terrington St Clement Wisbech

Considering the 1939 register, Balaclava Farm and limited info so far - I have to agree with Pauline's earlier find reply 5 and reply 10

I agree with earlier comments too.   He was registered as Sydney Gent, shown as such on 1901, 1911 and marriage in 1922 but in 1939 he is 'Sidney' and also 'Sidney' when he died which was Dec.qtr.1974 Bristol, Glos. (not Leicestershire, perhaps he died on holiday??)., born 10/7/1893 Terrington, Norfolk.

His father Thomas was born 6/12/1860 Terrington and married Rosa Millhouse Dec.qtr.1889 Grantham, Lincolnshire.   He died 12/6/1947 Fakenham, Norfolk and his probate listing shows his address as Inmere Farm, Snettisham - at a time when most peoples estates were £1000 or under, his stands out as being £12,727.10s so certainly a man of means.

However, son Sydney/Sidney died 1974 but appears not to have left a will so no way of showing the value of his estate when he died.   However, when his widow Olive Ada died in 1987 her estate was £91,009 and her address was in Downham Market, Norfolk.

He moved to Leicester after he divorced Olive, don’t know how long and died at his daughters in Bristol .
