Hi All,

Is anyone familiar with place names in the Pontevedra area of Galicia, Spain?
I have an old marriage certificate and the Groom is from "V?????(unreadable)-Cazina". Does anyone know what the place name beginning with 'V' would be?
Also, is nearby Creciente spelt as Creciente or Crecente or Ribera-Creciente?! Seems to be multiple spellings of the same place?

And any tips for researching family history in this corner of the country?

In the comarca of A Paradanta is a municipalty called A Caņiza ;D

The 2nd reference is to a (badly) translated page!
But the "V-" word could be Villa?

I've been looking at the place names on Wikipedia and I now believe that it could read "Valeixe-Cazina, Pontevedra".

Bear in mind that place names in Galicia were changed sometime (1973?) to reflect Galician language! ;D
