Welcome to Rootschat.

Have you found any family in 1841 or later?

Unfortunately any records of deaths pre 1855 are few i.e. dependent on MIs.

Hi there - thanks!

Yes, and I've found birth and death records for all of her siblings which is why I find it odd that I can't find her death details.

Her siblings:

Peter Sharp (1797 Errol, Perthshire - 1873 Kinfauns, Perthshire)
Agnes Sharp (1799 unknown - 1846 Kinfauns, Perthshire)
James Sharp (1801 Errol, Perthshire - 1868 Kinfauns, Perthshire)
Andrew Sharp (1803 Errol, Perthshire - 1883 Greenloaning, Perthshire)
Alexander Baird Sharp (1810 Errol, Perthshire - 1898 Kinnoull, Perthshire)

Her parents:

Peter Sharp (1778 Errol, Perthshire - 1841, unknown)
Janet McLean (1774 Errol, Perthshire - 1851, Kinfauns, Perthshire)

Thanks,
James

You don't say if they all remained in Errol?

Have you checked the marriages of siblings to see if she may have been a witness?

From my original post "any records of deaths pre 1855 are few i.e. dependent on MIs"...if they exist.

A couple of trees online but neither have any info. other than the baptism.

Hi Annie,

Thanks again for the response. I have added the relevant birth and death locations to siblings and parents in my post above. The short answer is no - the family appears to have moved to Kinfauns later on.

Only 3 of the siblings appear to have married - James, Andrew and Alexander. I have all three of their marriage parish records, none of which mention Margaret.

Very strange. Possible of course that she died in childhood.

Thanks again,
James

You have the death of Peter 1841 & wife Janet 1851 are those dates confirmed or circa dates & where?

I've searched Wills & Testaments but nothing for either in the correct area although there's a Peter 1851 "residing at Hillhead of Machany, now called Hillhead of Strathallan" which looks a bit distant & I don't think it's a Will but an Inventory?

There's also likewise for sons Peter & Alexander.
