Richard Pratley - m -Sarah ??? abt 1840-1845 Oxfordshire

Hi all,

I'm looking for a marriage of Richard Pratley to a Sarah ?? about 1840/5 in Oxfordshire and wonder if anyone can help please.
I have them both in 1851/61/71 censuses in Leafield and both are born about 1821 or 1826 respectively in Leafield or  a near parish. Richard was a woodman and I have not found his burial/death entry whereas a Sarah Pratley  is buried Leafield aged 68 in 1893.

Richard Pratley was bapt. 25-3-1821 Leafield s/o Elisha & Anne.

Now a problem I have come across is  there is a marriage of;
Richard Pratley (s/o Richard) to Keziah Scarrott 8-11-1843 in Shipton under Wychwood
and also
Richard Willett  (s/o Philip) to Sarah Pratley (d/o Elisha) in Shipton 13-10-1845.

To complicate matters even more Richard Pratley & Sarah have about 10 children one of whom is a son baptised as Augustine Pratley 19-1-1851 Leafield who marries  a Sarah Ann Harris 25-12-1878 in Kilburn, London and he is recorded as Augustine Pratley Willett  who lists his father as Richard Pratley Willett.

Is anyone able please,  to find a marriage of Richard Pratley to Sarah and/or am I mixing up the families.

Hi Pauline,

All 10 children I have found were bapt. in Leafield a chapelry of Shipton-under-Wychwood.
There are  numerous "Pratley" families having many children of each couple in these parishes.

Baptisms won't give a mothers maiden name.
Births might. Since it should be available, try to use both
