Agnes Heavey
« on: Monday 22 July 19 15:39 BST (UK) »
Hi , I have hit a bit of a brick wall with a Irish aunt on my husband's side of the family. She died in Coventry in 2013 aged 92, having never married, so that would put her date of birth as 1921. I know she was born in Ahabeg, County Kerry and that her parents were Eugene Heavey and Ellen (nee Kelly)I have searched on Ancestry as well as the Irish records online and have even removed the name Agnes from the search as many of my husband's family go by family names rather than birth names - but so far am stumped! Any advice as to where to go next would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to Rootschat.

https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/ only have births from 1864-1918 at the moment.

Someone else may come along soon with access to more recent births.

Here's the link to the parents marriage in Listowel on 15th Feb 1917.

Were there other children registered in the same district?
Agnes birth cert won't be online yet but she should be on the FamilySearch index

There's a couple much later on https://www.familysearch.org/search/ with surname Heavy and mmn Kelly, don't know if they're siblings as you can't see any more info now.

Has the website suddenly changed?

I see their father Eugene died in Coventry in 1971, (death notice in the Irish Independent) did the entire family move when the children were quite young, if Agnes was born shortly before they moved perhaps her birth was never registered, or she wasn't born in Kerry.

I'm going to fling this lap top against the wall any moment now.

I can see an Ellen in 1928 I think it was mother Kelly, the other one was in a different part of the country, you can see what you could always see of the index. Page Vol etc. but yes that site have become very annoying.
