Of course BUT at this time all marriages in England and Wales appeared on the GRO registers, whether CofE, non-conformist, RC, register office etc.  Although I can't find it (along with others) one of my thoughts is wrong spelling of surnames or marrying under "different" forenames.  :-\

Maybe they just didn't marry. It cost money. OR did they go to Gretna Green!

I'll have another hunt, but I'm beginning to think they didn't tie the knot (now that I have said that some clever soul will find it.)

Well it wasn't at Gretna Green itself -- there are records on Ancestry and our couple not listed.
