I wonder if would be worth getting a Lily Jones’s will.  I THINK it could be this one

Only £1.50 so perhaps worth a punt

Hi
The newspaper sadly reports that Mrs E Oliver (no forename) had been suffering from a tropical disease and had been in St Georges hospital for seven weeks before returning home for 5 weeks before passing away two days after her daughter Gwendoline aged 15 was admitted to hospital with appendicitis.
They had another girl aged 10 and a boy aged 8.
She was interred in Borough Cemetery.

Thank you both.
Yes, the dc gives cause of death as Sprue.
Grateful for the burial location and the Will, which could help firm the connection.
There is apparently no family knowledge of any Jones aunts/uncles/grandparents at all.  The death of Eliza, followed by WW2, remarriage of widower and death of Dudley seem to have understandably disrupted communication with the family.

Thank you for your help.  Elise is a happy neighbour with just those linkages. Verifying the family story re her name was the object of the exercise, rather than genealogy and it seems if Eliza was called Elise it was probably a pet name.
Cheers, gladyseva
