I'm assuming that you are definitely searching for the Henry SMITH (tailor) who married Hannah STEARNE in 1847?
It does seem unlikely that he would change profession from butcher to tailor, but not impossible. Could you please confirm that this marriage is the one you are looking at?  :)

If it's Henry Smith who arrived Mangles 1839, butcher then he married Zillah Proctor.
