Thanks NooshieW I read the artical on the Historic England site

I may need a trip if I want to clarify more. The 1861 Census looks as though they are next to the Alms houses but the map shows differently
Many thanks for your help

That’s OK, my Great Great Grandfather was born in Morval and I live in Cornwall. I have been through Morval, but not stopped to investigate it, I must do it!!

From memory you cannot drive through Morval but you can go past the Alms houses at Leyland. The church is lovely my G.G. Grandfather is buried there. Its a nice hamlet
Sadly I am stuck on that line & have been for over 10 yrs. He never appeared on 1851 because he had died. He was in Plymouth prior to that. Where he was born I have no idea. I may try researching him again one day.
I see your interests are Cornwall Devon & Somerset as are mine, although I have Ireland London & Sussex as well.
Thanks again for your time & help

I suppose I meant that I drove past Morval, not through it. I remember a stone cross by the side of the road, it was years ago.
Maybe if you post your Gt Gt Grandfathers details on here, someone can help.
