Location of RC church Galway City
« on: Wednesday 31 July 19 13:04 BST (UK) »
Hi. I have recently found a baptism for Daniel Ford 1820 at St Nicholas South and West, Galway City. The alternative parish name is Middle Street. Daniel was baptised 16 Jan 1820, parents James and Eleanor, abode Cross St. Can anyone tell me where this church would be please? Daniel went on to Preston, Lancashire, where he married Ellen Rigby in 1840. I am fairly local to Galway, so would love to check the area out. Many thanks as always.

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

The old maps appear to have two RC churches on Middle St, St Augustine's which is still there and another at the end of the street which is now marked as mishnóc on the aerial view of Google Maps

Finally think this street view is working.

No idea if this was ever called St.Nicholas
