Does the second word start with a small letter? Is it all one word? Is that a colon after the first word?

Lots of questions I'm afraid.

Oh true - that does look like a : after the first word and the symbol on the next line looks like &

back to the drawing board, or maybe a very old atlas ...

Aha! I was in the Te Ahu (Kaitaia) archives today and saw a whole lot of entries in the registers for Mangatakauere - one word not 2  ;D

So with that, I googled it when I got home. Mangatakauere is by Pamapuria, which is just south of Kaitaia on SH1.

There are also quite a lot of "since dead" entries too throughout the baptism registers, and very few Occupations listed.

Thank you for everyone who has given suggestions - all your input is very much appreciated :D

Hello thread.

Karl has just sent me a PRIVATE message. There in he stated he had been reading my posts and activity on the forum, and expressed a wish to correspond with me due to research of mine that involves his roots.

I have replied by MP. Presume he posted on several threads so that he could approach me privately.
