Hi Midase

Could I ask where you found that please? The latest version I found on the web so far was WinREG 3.2.22. I am awaiting an answer from FreeREG about the best place to download from. I last did it so long ago I can't remember where I got it from and there doesn't seem to be a link on the FreeREG site as far as I can see.

There is something amiss with the information I looked at. It would seem that WinREG is no longer produced. Here is a list of software by FreeREG https://sites.google.com/site/winregsoftware/download and indeed 3.2.22 is the latest dating back to 2015!

I did find WinREG 4 when I searched specifically for that. It is a free download from a site called FDRlib. I don't think I am going to risk it. I will wait for an answer from my FreeREG co-ordinator about the best place to download it from.

I did look at that but if you follow it through, it takes you to a German website unrelated to the product.  ???

WinReg 4 is the Windows Registry Editor I mentioned earlier and is no longer supported by its German authors.

WinReg3.2 from your link above does install and run on Windows 10 and so lack of memory and hard drive cache space may be the cause of the problem - although I would expect the program to open and then crash not simply refuse to open.

Have you tried running as an administrator ? (higher access privileges in Windows) - simply right click on the program icon and select "Run as Administrator" from the drop down menu. This sometimes forces problem programs to start working.
