Don't know what Henry Snr. was before, Henry Jnr. was a mariner but where is Fanny?
ADDED
Henry Snr was a labourer in 1872 at the baptism of Edith Mary Duckridge.

Maybe the marriage of Henry and Fanny.

Henry Puckridge  m  Frances Godden.  1859 Portsea Island, Hampshire.
Volume: 2B  Page: 721  Affiliate Line Number: 10

Birth of Henry Jnr.

PUCKERIDGE, HENRY   mmn  GODDEN
GRO Reference: 1869 D Quarter in PORTSEA ISLAND  Volume 02B  Page 411

This may account for Henry being a Mariner.

Just for info, Nooshie you probably already have this:

1861 census at Wandsworth:
Henry Buckridge     33    Alton, Hampshire  (labourer on railway)
Frances Buckridge  22    Brighton, Sussex  (milliner)
RG09/370 / 91 pg 17

(transcribed Buckridge on familysearch)

Thanks so much to all, but I am more confused than ever. I do not have the Whitehaven group of children and they aren’t around subsequently. The family seems to be all over the place and the birthplaces change. Henry Jnr has Southport as place of birth, then Portsmouth.

Are you sure Henry Snr. died in 1871 ?
There is a baptism for Edith Mary Duckridge  03 Mar 1872, St Barnabas, Braddan, Isle of Man.
father Henry Duckridge, (Labourer). Does'nt say deceased.
mother Fanny Duckridge.

[/
There is also:
Mary Ann PUCKERIDGE birth reg Dec qtr 1873 at Whitehaven, mmn GODDEN
Laura Caroline PUCKERIDGE birth reg Jun qtr 1875 at Whitehaven, mmn GODDEN
George Robert PUCKERIDGE birth reg Sept qtr 1876 at Whitehaven, mmn GODDEN.

Modified to add:
Laura Caroline died Dec qtr 1875 at Whitehaven

Looking at my tree all the above children are on it named ‘Pitman’ after the second husband, or was Fanny even married to him. On a late census she is still Puckeridge, but earlier ones she is Pitman.
