Who is your direct line that you have as a child of Henry born c1839.  Where do you have that child with its parents on census, please give details.

Note - your describing "Lucy Maria, 1856, John William 1857 et al" as "Henry's siblings" did initially confuse.

Can find a couple of Henry's children (Harry Edward, Agnes Louisa) with mother's maiden name Teague on the GRO - but not Lucy Maria, first born.

FindMyPast has the marriage (transcription only) of Jane Teague, age 17 and Henry Hadley, age 19, on 5 Nov 1855. at Worcester. The Henry Hadley registered Mar Qtr 1839, would have been about sixteen and a half in Nov 1855 (assuming birth was registered shortly after his birth).

Lucy is listed on the 1861 census with Henry and Jane.

Yeah I saw this census entry too.  Am unsure whether Esther Orford married John, Henry's dad and whether Jane grain/greenfield did as well.  Esther does appear with the family on a number of the censuses 1841, 1851 and 1861 so wondering if Jane was married to the same person or not.  But Henry is also listed down with wife and kids on 1861 census so maybe Esther is wrong as you can't have Henry listed twice in 1861 living with wife, then with potential mother.  So perhaps john did marry Jane Greenfield and she's Henry's Mum.

I think they must be two different John Hadley families


The John who married Jane Greenfield in 1831 was a widower, so presumably a bit older.

John who married Esther Orford is a forgeman in 1851

It is possible that the John Hadley age 17 was baptised 14 Jul 1833 at Rowley Regis parents John (deceased) and Jane.

Mary who is listed before him was baptised 18 December 1831 parents John Hadley occ Victualler and Jane.

There were two burials in Rowley Regis for a John Hadley
