Robert Smith at Murthill

According to SP baptismal records my 2nd Great Grandfather, Robert Smith, was a Yarnwasher  at Murthill on 26 April 1835 and 4 Feb 1838.
Can anyone tell me where he was likely to be employed at this time please?

This gives you lots of info including main landowners who may or may not have had textile businesses, the Wills are too early really to help but they can be a good source of information

Note that there are three plash mills marked on the map. A plash mill is where wool was washed or fulled, so he could have been employed in one of these.

Note that Murthill in the parish of Tannadice. If you are looking for information about ancestors in Scotland, it is always useful to state the parish because the older records were all collected at parish level so people will know where to look for information for you.
