Hi, Ladies,
Thank you all for your interest in my post.
I strongly suspect that Rebecca Rutter was born circa 1837 at or near Sittingbourne, Kent, to parents William Rutter and Caroline nee Ruck. The family travelled around Kent starting out in Faversham, then to Sittingbourne, then to Bredgar. Caroline died in 1852 and by 1861 William had remarried and was living at Bury St. Edmonds with his new wife and Rebecca, Ann (the youngest) and Edward, all children of William and Caroline.
One of their other children, Caroline, married Robert Earll in Bredgar, Kent in 1863 and remained there, landing in the Kent Lunatic Asylum sometime after the birth of her child in 1871, until her death in 1892. This couple had 4 children between 1863 and 1871, 2 of whom had died before 1871 and the third had died before 1911.
I am definitely interested in finding the details of Rebecca Rutter and Arthur Brand's marriage as I have a DNA match with a fellow who has Rebecca Rutter in his online tree. Unfortunately, he has no more information about her. But, this appears to be the only place where we can connect our two ancestries. We would share the grandparents of Caroline Ruck as common ancestors. So any assistance in checking the marriage of Arthur Brand and Rebecca Rutter would be most welcome.
