Did you get the death certificate for Philippa Wyllie 1860?
It may have clues as to who notified the GRO of her death.

She was buried 9 April 1860 at All Souls, Southwark address 36 Gloucester Crescent, Regents Park.

1851 census Ashley Place Finsbury Middlesex

William Willey age 57 fund holder born Forfar Scotland, listed as a visitor unmarried in the house of John S Hodges a tailor born Kent.

It seems to fit except for the unmarried part or perhaps the person giving the information did no know for sure.

Where was this 1841 census?
England, scotland, wales?
Sorry, having said it was in Surrey I assumed people would know it is England.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

I guess this is the Mary who died in Yeovil, noted as married a Lodger
Address Market Place, Ilchester.
Thanks you, ColC, I am sure you have hacked it.

In the next household in Ilchester, on the very next line of the census, is William Francis, brother-in-law of Mary Maria Rogers' deceased stepdaughter Eleanor Martha Wyllie. I wondered why Eleanor married in Ilchester, but if Mary Maria was from there it might explain why.

1851 Census - search for "isabel wylie, YoB 1839, location - troqueer
Good grief! I never expected to find them there. And Mary is described as proprietrix of lands and houses, which doesn't square with William being bankrupted in 1838.

Thank you very much for that, hanes teulu :)
