St Andrews, Plymouth - WILLIAMS & LIGHT MARRIAGE
« on: Tuesday 20 August 19 12:01 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have been told that the marriage of John Garland Williams and Rebecca Light took place in St Andrews, Plymouth, Devon, on 7 July 1819.  However, having searched several sites, I cannot find the marriage anywhere.

So, I was wondering if some kind soul may be able to look it up for me, as I am hoping for verification and, possibly, some extra clues.

I would be most grateful for any help on this one, and if I can return the favour here in Cornwall, I should be very happy to do so.

Many thanks
Beccy

Thank you so much for your super quick responses.

That will be why I can't find it then Rosie, as I don't have a subscription to Find My Past.  Thank you though.

Aw, thank you Kay, that's really helpful.  Those witnesses might come in very useful. :)

Added  -  Rebecca was from Devon and John was from Cornwall, so that confirms my findings too.  Thank you Kay.

I think you'll find that the witness Sampson was also of the surname LIGHT (not SIGHT). He married in 1817 and in the 1851 census was shown as born in Yealmpton ca 1794. He may well have been Rebecca's brother or cousin. She was baptised in Newton Ferrers 6 Nov 1796, dau of Phillip & Mary.
Philip LIGHT married Mary FORSTER 23 Sep 1784 at Revelstoke.
