George William PEARCE Winnipeg died 1984
« on: Thursday 22 August 19 08:23 BST (UK) »
Following on from my thread https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=817572.0 it appears that Christopher's son George died in Winnipeg in 1984.

There is a brief mention of the death of George William Pearce in the Winnipeg Free Press Archives of 18 June 1984 but the full obituary appears on the 19 June 1984. Can anyone access that please? I'd love to confirm that this George is the son of Christopher and any clues it offers to George's family. His widow Grace Manna died 14 March 2015 in Winnipeg

June 19 1984 WFP, page 34.

It says that George William Pearce died suddenly at his residence on June 16 1984.  Husband of Grace.  His mother Ivy of Kenora survives him.

Born in Kenora in 1920.  Served in the Lake Superior Regiment in WW2.  After the war, he resumed employment with the Canadian Pacific Railroad in Kenora.  Moved to Winnipeg in 1953 and was Executive Director of the Home Welfare Association for 16 years.  Later, worked for the Coast Guard Division of the Ministry of Transport.

Interment St. John's Cathedral Cemetery.
