In ancestry a hint shows both his parents were nationalized.
The newspaper article from 2017 by his granddaughter details the sinking of SS Main.

My grandfather's brother was also a mariner and sailed to Finland. I will have to search Welsh Mariners website to see if there is more information on Thomas.

Hi Jamcat95,
I have only seen the christening records which are in Swedish, but no other records.
I would like to discover more, but note the daughters surname is taken from the father but not the sons why? It is not as confusing as Icelandic genealogy where you need the wedding details to find the parents.
