Hi,
Yes I believe this is her and as her mother is called Elizabeth I believe she was known as Ann and later after marrying Henry Sweetland she was known as Annie. Annie and Henry's children were registered with the GRO as either mother's maiden name Stacey or Garrett. On her marriage documents she gives her name as Annie Stacey and her father's name as Alfred Stacey (I think she changed his surname from Garrett to Stacey to hide the fact she was illegitimate). Although Alfred Garret lived close by the Stacey family in the census returns and he later married ELizabeth Stacey I can't be certain Alfred Garrett was Ann/Annie's Dad unfortunately so this whole part of my tree is blank. I wish I knew a Garrett related to him to compare my DNA to but I can't find any on Ancestry!

Thank you Keyboard86, due to the proximity he could have fathered Elizabeth Ann and then married the mother Elizabeth 7 years later?? It is a frustraiting mystery as to who the father is!

Hi, many thanks for this information and for looking this up. I think Elizabeth Ann's mother Elizabeth's mother was Ann Handsford/Ransford. Thomas married Ann 29 Jun 1852 • Sherborne, Dorset, England when he was 45 but I think he was married to another Ann before this one and I think she was Ann Garrett so perhaps the Garretts that lived near by were relatives of his first wife, including Alfred who later married Tom's daughter Elizabeth?
