Rev Tiverton Preedy
« on: Friday 06 September 19 19:02 BST (UK) »
Died June 1/4 1928 and is buried in Islington Cemetery East Finchley.
Found the following reference 'Buried next to him is his great friend.'

Can anyone confirm if this was Rev Cuthbert Trower who died March quarter 1931 in Newbury Berks.
If not Rev Trower then who is buried next to Rev Preedy in Islington Cemetery?

thanks.

None for me.
Suggest get in contact with the Barnsley FC supporters who visit the grave every year and ask them who is in the one next to him.
Or make a visit yourself?

Before attempting a visit, be warned that I&StP is the largest cemetery in the UK, so large that they provide a minibus to take people around. Also that as the Find A Grave page says, it's overgrown in places. So don't expect to wander in and straight up to the grave! You'll need a plot number, which is available for a fee from deceasedonline (where his surname is transcribed as Purdy) but I don't have a sub. In fact, the fee privides a register scan, which, if you're lucky and it's organised by graves rather than dates and he's not at either end of a page, will answer your question anyway.
Researching Penge, Anerley, (incuding the Crystal Palace) and neighbouring parts of Beckenham, currently in London (Bromley), formerly Surrey and/or Kent.

No plot number given on Deceased on line, just address, date of burial and the fact the service was performed by Rev Cuthbert Trower..
