There is a tree on familysearch which shows Robert, Cornwall & Cornwall Snr. Can't gaurantee accuracy. Complete with marriages & births. Worth a look.

Perhaps a little clue:

Baptism at Skipsea - Ralph son of Cornwall Baron Junior and Elizabeth - 2 October 1785

Added:  so probably the Cornwall Baron baptised 27 March 1757 at Skipsea, son of Cornwall and Elizabeth.

Thanks again, BumbleB and Kloumann,
Yes, always treat these online trees with suspicion - and respect!  But I'll certainly have a look at that.
And those marriages for, presumably Cornwell (sic) BARON senior, might indicate an early death for the first Elizabeth he married in 1754...

Thanks so much for that, Kloumann!
And on Ancestry I've just come across recorded burials of Cornwall BARON on 19th January 1809, and remarkably a Cornwall BARON senior, buried 3rd June 1811.  A case of namesake son predeceasing his grieving father by a couple of years there?
I wouldn't imagine the headstone still exists, or if it does whether the MI is still legible in All Saints Churchyard, Skipsea.  What is the air quality like there?
Keith

An image of the 1811 1809 headstone is available here:

added:  Elizabeth (on the headstone) - buried 9 October 1820 - Elizabeth, wife of Cornwell Baron, Farmer of Skipsea, aged 65.

Possible confusion continues  :-\

1754 marriage for Cornwell Baron and Elizabeth Myers says that Cornwell is of the parish of Ulrome.

There is a baptism of Cornwal, son of Cornwal Baron - 5 June 1733 at Ulrome.

Goodness,
Set off home from Cornwall mid afternoon and have stopped mid-journey in Shaftesbury to discover all these fascinating additions on this thread.
Thank you so much for these, BumbleB!
Keith
And I love that term Yeoman, tenant farmer...

...and that's an incredibly clear image of that inscription on quite an old headstone.  The letters and numbers carved quite deeply.  Wonderful, very impressive...
