There is a death for a Timothy Corcoran, aged 46, in 1893 in Anderston (civil record) which may be worthwhile looking at on ScotlandsPeople as it might provide a clue as to where the family was from or who the witnesses were.

Managed to get Timothy's death cert, its has given me a name of Ann's parents which is another step..but my text deciphering skills are pretty poor to really get much more out of it!

Well, it tells you that John Martin was the brother-in-law so Margaret was Timothy's sister.  Looks like he died at work of a skull fracture.

One census showed John b in London.

There is this Ann Corcoran in 1871 57/5/1
Grove House, Hammersmith Red Hammersmith
Anna Corcoran 30 yrs b Dundalk, Ireland
Emma Cobb 38 yrs
Mary Martus 25 yrs

She is shown as ‘married’ but it looks as though ‘Un’ has been added

Do you know what religion the family were?

We know that they were catholics. No records of Ann marrying in Scotland, so she either married John in London or in Ireland somewhere.
