Does anyone know where I can find the court notes for a conviction made in 1835 at Dumfries Court of Justiciary?

You can search for precognitions on the NRS website:

http://catalogue.nrscotland.gov.uk/nrsonlinecatalogue/search.aspx

Just put in the name and choose 'all words (AND)' as well as years from and to.

When the results come up click on 'display catalogue results', choose the record you want and then "what now?" in the top right hand corner for instructions on how to view the record.  If you can't view the record in person it can be quite expensive to obtain a copy, depending on how many pages there are.

I think you have an interest in Thomas KERR, arrived "Layton" (2) 1835?.

On the ship with brothers Duncan Henry KERR, 17 years...and William KERR 22 years.

Dumfries and Galloway archives in Dumfries have extensive court records, although they are not online.
