Yes I agree Maureen.
There are Neafsey variations, I have also seen.

Baptisms indexed from Kiltulla, Roscommon.
I can’t see any with father James and this is the only Patrick

Patt  Navesey 13th December 1869 parents David and Mary Ruane, Mount Delvin

12th March 1865
Pat Na?ey with parents Pat and Anne Judge , Rhalena

There is this - I will look for the link in a minute

27th January 1861
Pat of James Narie and Mary Raghtigan  , Culkeen

Age is different but that is not unusual

I can’t find it on
https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1073

But I realise it is very tenuous.

Griffiths has him as James Neary, Culkeen  :-\

There are a couple of similar names but not Neasey

Maybe you'll find him under "James Nearly"  ?   ;D

I had a quick scroll through register from 1863 back a couple of years.... didn't see Surname even as Sponsors.

The registers look to be from various chapels so are not in order.

Some quite far away too but is that not just for earliest film?

https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632061#page/1/mode/1up  says Kiltullagh but do you think they are a mix?
