hello Troops have i missed any references that may help confirm the McClures migration from Scotland to Donegal & then to Australia & Virginia?
McClure noted as an ancient Ayrshire family before the year 1100.[source – Tracing your Donegal Ancestors by Helen Meehan & Godfrey Duff - 2008].
In 1677 Richard McClure leased [5.5.1677] the Findrum Estate from Charles Hamilton of Cavan and Donaghmore. Hamilton inherited the Findrum Estate from Sir John Wilson.[McClure DNA – Richard [1650-1709] , son Francis – gent of Findrum [1675-?]].[Charles [? – 1758, is said to be another son of Richard above].
1832 Findrum Legal Opinion – from Rankin Stuart Deeds. Copy of case for opinion of John Colhoun-Andrew Gregg Solicitor – March 1832. “the said Richard McClure [of the 1677 deed] possessed the lands of Ballyboe during his life and had four sons one of whom Francis McClure possessed the said lands at his death but whether as eldest son and heir at law at this length of time cannot be ascertained but the said Francis is said to have been the eldest son;, Francis died leaving 3 or 4 sons the eldest being David McClure [wife Jane Graham[married 1736?]] who possessed the lands at Ballyboe and David on the marriage of his son Andrew McClure [born 1750 settled these lands on him by deed 21.12.1770.
1661 - There are records on a tombstone erected at Findrum, County Donegal by Andrew McClure, Surgeon, Royal Navy, to the memory of his ancestors whose remains lie deposited in the vault beneath, and who for upwards of two hundred years had resided at Findrum. This tomb has inscribed upon it the coat-of-arms, crest, and motto of the McClures. Erected 1861.
Ayrshire Donegal Planters John Cunningham of Crafueld. William Stewart , Laird of Dunduff of Maybole.  James Cunningham, Laird of Glangarnocke Ayr. The Cunningham and Stewart families took the Laggan Valley and divided it into two parts – Liffer/Lifford & Portlough. They brought their tenants with them and leased them farms.
Muster Rolls of Barony of Raphoe County Donegal circa 1630Estate of Sir John Wilson [Inherited by Charles Hamilton 1655].
1665 – Hearth Tax – Parish Raphoe – Donegal Dean of Raphoe – Churchlands -  Robert M’Cluer, John McClure Jnr, John M’Cluer of Agagalty. [and a Gilbert McCluer – Parish of Donoghmore.][source – The Days of Laggan Presbytery by Rev.A.G.Lecky].[Bishop George Montgomery of Raphoe- who is said to have brought over settlers from his native Ayrshire.
Pynnars Survey 1616 land grants of Liffer [Lifford] Precinct, Barony of Raphoe, County Donegal.[No McClurers]
Undertaker Peter Benson Esq. 1500 acres.
[Kilpatricks and Killynure McClures known to each other in Donegal and Australia
Pynnars Survey 1616 stated that many of the Scottish tenants came from North Ayrshire – some towns named. Also noted that lowland Scots were used as troops to quell the north from 1606-1609. The lowland Scots were probably listed as British.
Cloghroh/Cloghroe-Samuel McClure, wife [nee McClure], children – Nancy, Elizabeth, Jane, Samuel, David.Findrum – Widow McClure – Andrew, Mary, & Rebecca.[Widow McClure – John McClure 1765-1816] m. Mary Caldwell].John Gregg.m.Margaret McClure – children.1835 – Listed Will of David McClure of Kilross [between Killynure & Stranorlar][near Upper Cavan].1840 – Robert McClure of Magheranappin married Margaret Montgomery second daughter of Hugh Montgomery of Ray.
1857 – Griffiths Valuations – Convoy Donegal.
David McClure – Wilsons Fort/Killynure[Convoy Parish, Raphoe South Barony][Immediate Lessor – Mrs.Stewart & Charles Edward Stewart].Samuel McClure snr – Cloghroe [Convoy Parish, Raphoe South Barony][Immediate Lessor – Sir Edmund S.Hayes].Samuel McClure jnr – Cloghroe [Convoy Parish, Raphoe South Barony][Immediate Lessor – Samuel Hayes Snr].William McClure – Magheranappin [Convoy Parish, Raphoe South Barony][Immediate Lessor – Robert G. 1876 – Landowners List – David McClure, Gobnascale – 59 acres. November 1896 - Land Deed Search - 6.3.1855, 1.1.1870, 12.4.1877, 13.12.1877, 5.2.1891- James McClure [Robert McClure – son], William McClure, David McClure Gobnascale, Parish Convoy, Barony Raphoe. [David McClure of Gobnascale – note ‘This does not apply the Grantor must be David McClure of Killynure].Cloghroe McClures Charles McClure – Freeholders list 1775-1778 Samuel McClure – Raphoe Vestry 1767, Spinning Wheel 1796, Will 1779.Son of Samuel – Samuel McClure – bc1769, d.1865.m.[nee]McClure, Convoy Presbyterian Congregation 1822, Freeholders List 1829.
Heresay from Gobnascale McClures that they are related to the McClures of Killynure/Convoy.

Cheers

Francis is alive in 1737... As Grantor to Nesbitt with David McClure/wife Jane Graham mentioned

That is all.

Basically it is just a list of Court Cases in Chancery that year. That one gives 4 dates listing the "proof" submitted.

Were these "deeds" Registered in Dublin??  or a Deed from when he bought Land from Robert McClure?

Hallmark - I have no idea where the deed was registered. Just that the firm who instigated the search was registered in Dublin. If you pm me an email address i can send you a copy.

Just a question on #8 - Was David McLure renting from Robert and Arthur McClure or the otherway round.

cheers

In 1745 Robert and Arthur McClure have leased the farm to David and his heirs for 999 years

In 2744  Robert and Arthur McClure's descendants can re-Lease it or sell it or whatever.
