Birth

I am looking for a birth registration for a Clara Sprague bc 1866 in Branscombe Devon. Father John Sprague b c 1833 Northleigh Devon . Mother Ann Sprague bc 1835 Axminster. They were married in 1856.  In the 1871 census  there is a correction noting George Sprague should read Clara. I cannot find a birth for a Clara, I think she might have emigrated to Australia. Any help please would be appreciated

The parents are shown as born in Shute, per 1861-1871, as are all the children.

Can’t see John George c1861, Clara c1866 or Eliza c1873 so they may have been inconsistent with registering.

I think that could be her. In the 1881 census she is living with her sister Matilda Burroughs . Her sister Eliza and brother James emigrated to Australia together in 1891. I have a very strong feeling she went at some stage. Someone on Ancestry has her marrying a Robert Hunt and having a son b. 1902 in Australia. I don't have anything concrete on that though.

Thank you so much. I will continue to find out when she emigrated.  Strange that I cannot find a birth. Still I am slot further forward than I was.
